Kathmandu, March 30: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) senior vice-chair Rabindra Mishra and other monarchy supporters were presented at the District Court today to extend their custody period.

The District Court has allowed keeping further five days for Mishra and other pro-monarchy campaigners.

Mishra was taken to court on Sunday with his hands cuffed.

RPP general secretary and Member of the House of Representatives, Dhawal Shumsher Rana, and other leaders, including Swagat Nepal and Pushkar Khatiwada, were also taken to court for remand extension.

Mishra, along with Munindra Rajbhandari, the RTF commander from Durga Prasai’s campaign, and Santosh Rajabadi, was escorted to the Kathmandu District Court via the government attorney’s office for a remand extension.

The leaders were arrested following Friday’s violent protests in Kathmandu’s Tinkune area, which resulted in two deaths.

The police are preparing to file different cases against them.
