Kathmandu, March 29: Senior Vice-President of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Rabindra Mishra; General Secretary, Dhawal Shumsher Rana and advocate and spokesman of the Joint People’s Movement for Restoration of Monarchy, Swagat Nepal, have been arrested by the Police on Friday evening.

Spokesperson of Nepal Police Dinesh Kumar Acharya said that some people including Mishra, Rana and Nepal have been arrested. Mishra and Rana were arrested from Satdobato and Nepal from Putlisadak. Around 51 activists involved in Friday’s demonstration, are learnt to have been arrested by the Police.

A 1,111-member people’s movement mobilization committee was formed under the leadership of Rana. Mishra, Rana and Nepal had led the demonstration in Tinkune.

The government has concluded that Durga Prasain, the commander of the people’s movement, was responsible for violent acts on Friday’s demonstration.
