
Kathmandu, March 28: An interactive gathering of individuals who have contributed to various spheres of national life has issued a six-point appeal regarding the present movement for the restoration of the institution of monarchy.
They have urged for talks, dialogue and consensus from the government side as soon as possible to avoid possible conflict and the movement becomes uncontrol.
The appeal has been issued addressing the agitating parties, the government side, national and international human rights organizations and all concerned parties. The gathering expressed solidarity with the grievances of the people against both the present system and the management and the peaceful voices raised by the people for its improvement.
It has been requested that the political leadership and government level refrain from making rude statements, retaliatory activities, and using force against the peaceful voices and demands of the people. It has been warned that if the situation gets out of control, the government itself will be responsible for it.
The meeting was attended by industrialists Bhaskarraj Rajkarnikar, Bhawani Rana, Kushkumar Joshi, noted film artists Manisha Koirala and Deepak Raj Joshi, media persons Yuvraj Ghimire, Jeevanram Bhandari, Shyam Kandel, Tikaram Yatri, Dhireklal Shrestha and Ashish Sherchan, among others. Former IGP Sarbendra Khanal, who contested the parliamentary election from UML, also attended the meeting.
