Kathmandu, March 22: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal Abrar H Hashmi paid a courtesy call on Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav here on Friday.

During the courtesy call held at the Office of the Vice President at Lainchaur, matters related to bilateral relations, high-level visits, economic cooperation and cooperation and bilateral trade and investment were discussed, according to Vice President Yadav’s private secretariat. Vice President Yadav said relations between Nepal and Pakistan have been close and cordial since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and it should be further strengthened in the days to come.

Vice President Yadav stressed the need for the two countries to work together in the areas of mutual cooperation including investment, tourism, culture and people-to-people relations.

He also said that Nepal would like to welcome Pakistani investors to invest in hydropower, tourism, infrastructure, IT etc sectors. “I am confident that Nepal’s natural, archaeological and cultural heritage will attract Pakistani people to visit Nepal,” he said, thanking the Government of Pakistan for providing annual scholarships under the Pakistan Technical Assistance Program to Nepali students to study medicine, pharmacy and engineering.
