Pashupati Sumsher Rana, Minister for Water Resources, has said that the Mahakali accord and umbrella agreement with India is a great achievement for the optimum utilization of the nation’s water resources.
Rana, in a press meet program organised on Tuesday, said that Prime Minister Share Bahadur Deuba’s visit to India has opened the way for private sector investment in water resources.
“The government resources alone are not enough for utilization of huge potentiality of water resources in the Nation without the participation of private sectors”, said Rana.
Nepal and India have signed a power trade agreement in Mumbai, India, allowing mutual power deals between government, semi-government and private levels between two countries.
