Kathmandu, March 17: Gyanendra Shahi, Chief Whip of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has advocated for the restoration of the monarchy.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, he declared that republicanism and federalism have completely failed in Nepal and that democracy cannot be restored until the President is replaced by a King.

He said that they are struggling for a democratic democracy with a King. “Democracy will not be ended if a king is put in the place of the president”, he said.

“We need a democracy with a king, we are ready to have an open debate,” he said.

He said the current system is not for the people but for the big people exploiting the butter by sharing within them.

He said that this system is not suitable for the poor people.
