Kathmandu, March 14: Ruling Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has protested against the government’s efforts to bring a bill to provide lifelong government facilities to ex-VIPs.

The government is preparing to introduce a bill to provide lifelong facilities to ex-presidents, ex-vice presidents, ex-prime ministers, ex-chairmen of the Council of Ministers and ex-speakers and ex-chairmen of the National Assembly. Koirala said such a provision would not benefit the party.

Protesting against the government plan, leader Koirala wrote on the social outlet, Facebook, “Negative wisdom during destructive times”

“The growing anger of the citizens against the government for misrule, the intense opposition to the government’s work within the ruling party, and the attempt to commit another misdeed in a sensitive situation where the wrong elements are paving the way: providing facilities to the formers.”

“This is not in the interest of the party or the government. The government should not do such a work”.
