Kathmandu, March 9: At a time when negotiations between Israel and Hamas are ongoing to free all remaining hostages – living and dead – in a final deal before the second phase of the current ceasefire begins, there has been no mention of whether Bipin, a hostage in Gaza, is even alive or dead.

To recall, several Thai hostages were released by Hamas. Despite repeated efforts by the Nepal government, including the foreign minister, claiming that verbal requests have been made to relevant authorities seeking Bipin Joshi’s release, nothing has happened. Perhaps, this is an example of Nepal’s non-functional and non-influential foreign policy.

Joshi was gone to Israel on the “Learn and Earn” program introduced by the Israel government.

The government or the foreign ministry has maintained silence on when Bipin Joshi will be released. Can the government tell the nation whether he is dead or alive?
