Kathmandu, March 9: Hundreds of thousands of people greeted deposed King Gyanendra upon his arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu from Pokhara this afternoon.

Commentators have remarked that such a human sea was never seen in Kathmandu, even during the 2006 April uprising.

King Gyanendra received the welcome greetings from the people. The public gathering was seen on both sides of the road from the TIA to the Nirmal Niwas in Maharajgunj via Gaushala and Chabahil.

More importantly, the public gathering chanted slogans urging the deposed King to assume power to save the nation.
