
Kathmandu, March 8: China has handed over expensive medical equipment to the Civil Hospital in Minbhawan. The equipment were handed over by Chui Li, former Vice Minister of the National Health Commission and Vice President of the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, at a special ceremony held on Friday.
The establishment of the Nepal-China Lifeline Express Center of Cooperation at the hospital was announced at the program held with the chief guest of National Assembly Deputy Speaker Bimala Subedi. The Center will run special programs to prevent blindness.
The equipment worth about ten million rupees is mostly related to the treatment of eye diseases.
The health equipment were handed over to the Hospital while marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China.
Chinese Ambassador Chen Song, along with government officials and hospital officials were present at the event.
To note, the Civil Hospital was constructed by China as a grant support for Nepal.
