Kathmandu, March 8: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress, Shekhar Koirala, said that citizens have been demanding the restoration of the institution of monarchy after political leaders failed to deliver happiness to the people.
Addressing a program in Jhapa on Friday, Koirala said it.
Koirala said that the demand for the restoration of the monarchy is not happening in Nepal only but also in other countries including France. He said that it is necessary to pay attention to whether the republic has been able to instil hope and confidence among the people. He claimed that he did not believe that the monarchy would return, however, he suggested the republic leaders doing good work.
He also said, “Others say the former king, I call him the king. Because there is no such a practice elsewhere to call “ex” to an executive chief. Such a practice exists only in Nepal. Looking at the king”.
