Kathmandu, March 7: Commenting on social media, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal’s Chairman Kamal Thapa said that any attempt from the government to suppress the welcome program to the former King on Sunday will invite violence.
Thapa said that the constitution of 2015 has empowered all rights for national integrity and the sovereignty vested in the people, and even the system can be changed through the people’s mandate, any attempt to suppress the welcome event on Sunday can be counterproductive for the government.
Thapa expressed such remarks at a time when rumors are spread that the government is planning to suppress the welcome event on Sunday.
Thapa made these comments in the context of the pro Hindu kingdom parties and groups including the Rastriya Prajatantra Party are preparing to demonstrate a human sea while welcomg the deposed king upon his arrival in Kathmandu from Pokhara on Sunday afternoon.
Thapa has stated, “Even the system can be changed by the will of the people.” If the government controls the exercise of this constitutional right by anyone, it will be counterproductive and the people will be forced to retaliate.
