The heated talks between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday have almost altered the present world order creating a division in the West with the US siding with Russia and Europe supporting Ukraine.
The raised-voice spate between Trump and Zelenskyy sent not only shockwaves across the world, it put the fate of Ukraine at risk. Ukraine was fighting against Russia after the latter first attacked the former three years ago. Ukraine was surviving the war only with the support of the US and the west. Now when the US tilted towards Russia and exerted pressure on the Ukrainian President to end the war without guaranteeing its security, a shocking situation has arisen around the world. Mostly, the smaller states have felt unsafe in case the bigger neighbours attacked them.
After the Friday meeting went sour, the US has already halted its military and other support to Ukraine.
The latest development is also likely to lead the crumbing of NATO when the USA and Europe have divided over the Russia-Ukraine war. NATO is a military organisation of Europe and America, which are called the pro-democratic forces.

“I’m talking about the kind of diplomacy that’s going to end the destruction of your country,” Vance responded, tearing into the stunned Ukrainian leader.
“Mr President, with respect, I think it’s disrespectful for you to come into the Oval Office to try to litigate this in front of the American media.”
He also accused Zelensky of having campaigned on behalf of Democrats during the 2024 presidential election. The Ukrainian leader visited a munitions factory in the critical swing state of Pennsylvania last September and met Trump’s rival, Kamala Harris, at the White House.
After the dispute between Zelenskyy and Vance, the US president openly berated a guest in the Oval Office. Trump also accused the guest inviting World war III. Not only that, Trump ordered Zelenskyy to leave the White House immediately.
Raged Zelenskyy later reached London and participated in a summit in which the European leaders showed their solidarity with him. While UK announced loan support, others said they were with him. However, the US
