Kathmandu, March 3: Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal’s Chairman Kamal Thapa has claimed that due to the ongoing internal rift and chaos, republicanism and secularism are on the verge of collapse.

Addressing the extended meeting of the RPP-N in Bhaktapur, he remarked that due to the inefficiency and corrupt attitude of the political parties, the present system is going to collapse.

The message by former King Gyanendra delivered on the occasion of National Democracy Day was aimed at ending the ongoing crisis through national reconciliation. He said, “I urge all political parties to think about Hindurastra and restoration of monarchy by scrapping federalism”.

Describing that a democracy with a monarchy cannot be an anarchical rule, Thapa said that our multiparty democracy can be strengthened through a partnership between the institution of monarchy and the people.

Thapa said that his party welcomes the King’s call for strengthening multiparty democracy and rescuing the country from the ongoing crisis.

He said that the king is seeking support for ending the present anomalies that the nation is experiencing, even though it is unfortunate that the patriotic, pro-Hindu and pro-monarchy groups are unable to be united for the greater cause of safeguarding the nation.
