Kathmandu, March 3: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has said that alternatives should be pursued to prevent the country's situation from deteriorating further.
At a provincial-level protest rally organized by the party in Dhangadhi today, he expressed the view that the country could no longer bear this chaos situation and needed to reach a new understanding.
Lingden described the current situation saying that the leaders are gaining weight and the general public are dying, therefore, he urged a system having as king as patron of the nation.
“In such a situation, it is now necessary to make arrangement so that the monarchy will remain as a guardian institution by introducing the provision of the executive prime minister directly elected by the people, a fully proportional parliament. It will solve the country’s problems”, he claimed.
RPP Steering Committee Chairman and former Minister Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani said that the country is in trouble from a political, governance, economic and foreign policy perspective.

Party spokesperson Gyanendra Shahi said that reforms in governance are necessary to take the country on the right path.
