
Kathmandu, March 2: Ramadan, the great festival of Islam, begins today. The month-long festival is celebrated by Muslims. They don’t eat and don’t even drink water during the day until sunset. Fasting is observed from 4: 15 am to 6: 20 pm. During the fast, the time schedule also changes with the daily sunrise and sunset time.
Eid is celebrated on the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal. The festival of Eid, which is decided on the basis of the movement of the moon, is celebrated on the day after the moon is sighted for the first time in the Shukla Paksha, which begins after the end of Ramadan.
