
Kathmandu, March 1: When Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli intended to paralyze Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor, Balen Shah, the latter rote a status on social platform saying, “Mr Prime Ministry, you want to defeat me but we are trying to fulfill the dreams of the late Madan Bhandari. Don’t inundate the nation in an attempt to defeat me.”
In fact, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has been paralyzed after the chief executive officer is suspended on the allegation of being involved in irregularity in the KMC.
The Metropolis city wrote a letter to the government to send another chief officer, however, even after three months of the absence of the chief executive officer, the government didn’t assign a new officer.
According to the local government regulation, only the chief officer is authorized to release the funds in the Metropolis.
Due to the government’s non-cooperation, the KMC is facing trouble as it has not been able to release funds, even paying salaries to its staffers.
