Kathmandu, February 27: A delegation from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) of India, Bhutan and Maldives, who came to Nepal to participate in the Youth Exchange Program 2025, paid a courtesy call on President Ram Chandra Poudel on Wednesday.

The delegation arrived here on the occasion of Mahashivaratri and the 262nd anniversary of the establishment of the Nepali Army, met at the President’s residence, Sheetal Niwas. The Nepali Army has been exchanging skills, culture and traditions among its cadets to further strengthen mutual relations with the armies of neighboring countries. President Paudel is the Supreme Commander of the Nepali Army.

The training provided by the National Service Corps (NCC) has been transforming young people into loyal, disciplined, and responsible leaders and good citizens. NCC prioritizes the development and promotion of qualities such as nationalism, patriotism, leadership, confidence, and national service among youth, along with the exchange of best practices.

The visiting team includes 34 representatives. The meeting was attended by Nepal’s National Service Corps Executive Director General Yam Prasad Dhakal, India’s NCC Director General Gurbir Pal Singh, Bhutan Scout Association Director Sange Choden, and Maldives delegation leader Rifan Ali, according to the Office of the President.
