The country’s public debt has inclined at 26 trillion, 11 billion 60 million rupees by mid-February.

This is 45% of the country’s total domestic production (GDP). For big economies, the 45% debt ratio of the GDP is okay but for small economies like Nepal, it is alarming. Besides, we have a regressive expenditure trend. If the capital expenditure is larger than the general sector expenditure, it is okay but if the general sector expenditure or say the budget spent for salaries, allowances and social security responsibilities are higher than the development sector expenditure, it is a negative economy. Nepal is unable to increase the targeted expenditure towards the development sector, which is an alarm.

The public debt trend shows that the country is heading towards a negative path. If this trend continues, the economy can be collapsed. To conclude, if we continue to feed this expensive federalism, it is sure that the country is going to face a serious economic crisis soon. Surely, the present federalism is going to collapse, the worry is how to save the country after the collapse of the economy!

Who is responsible for Prakiti’s killing?

The death of student Prakiti Lamsal and the inhuman torture of the Nepali students in the KIIT, Odisha, India, is pathetic and humiliating.

If our leaders were visionary, they could have given high priority to developing Nepal as an educational hub and also developing an environment for employment for the students who graduated from the local educational institutions. Unfortunately, our leaders have the priority of sending our youths abroad. The ministers are holding talks for sending Nepali manpower to foreign countries.

Otherwise, if the government had given priority to developing Nepal as an educational hub as well as a medical hub, we could attract foreigners by ending the trend of going abroad for higher education and medical services.

This Babbler believes the leaders are solely responsible for the killing of Prakiti Lamsal and also the torture of the Nepali students.

A big political jolt

Those in the government are facing a big jolt after Donald Trump issued an executive order to suspend foreign aid. Moreover, those civic society leaders associated with different NGOs and working to destroy Nepal, have also jolted from the US President’s decision.

Nice to see the plight of those parasites!

QUOTES OF THE WEEK

The United States voted against Ukraine. After all, this is a strong message that the so-called big countries are and remain only on their side rather than on anyone's side. This is the result of our leaders becoming a puppet of the US, India, China or anyone else.

Mr Trump, please refrain from sending taxpayer money or aid to Nepal, particularly to the Government of Nepal (GON), NGOs, and INGOs. There is substantial evidence that these funds have been misused for corruption, political agendas, and non-productive purposes. If financial assistance is necessary, it should come with stringent accountability measures, similar to those required of federal employees (e.g., 'How was the fund utilized and what progress has been made each month?'). The funds provided have unfortunately fostered corruption instead of development. This misuse of resources must be stopped immediately!

Do you pay attention to the choice of words?

The word "monarchist" is inappropriate. The king has no side. The use of the word monarchist builds the side and the side builds the opposition.

The Father, the God and the King never become former. Therefore, the use of the term "former king" is not appropriate.

If one lakh people come down to the streets for one week in Kathmandu, this already ruined power will collapse. They do not get the support of the police and army also.

It may be dangerous to be America's enemy, but to be America's friend is fatal.

I am time and again saying that there is a monkey rule in Singha Durwar.

Saurav had said somewhere, "If the NGOs, INGOs are completely shut down, then two thousand intellectual parasites may have to leave the country, but the country will be formed”. When one USAID was closed, there was such a jolt, if two other INGOs were to be closed, then the vibration of the great rector would be seen in the intellectual parasites.

According to an informal study conducted by me, there are about 60 donor consultancy companies active in Nepal, almost all of them run by former secretaries, former deputy secretaries, former officers of the Nepal Police and Nepal Army, and some former planners.

This is the fate that the "Lendup" characters who will eventually suffer by the host nation around the world, whether it is Nepal or Ukraine. That's how the world and international politics and neocolonialism work, so listen to the experts on how projects like MCC are made, how landfills are selected and how palace killings take place. A key American Embassy contact in the Nepali Congress (NC), will ask for money from China and India after the suspension of MCC (I have said again that this idea has come from the host country).  Where is this contact person nowadays? Is he in India?

They were in the civic movement after receiving the US dollars. Trump disclosed it.

Laxman Ghimire

What is the significance of the so-called civic movement? Isn't the role of the so-called civic movement in taking the country to this quagmire of today? This could be the justification for the so-called civic movement. Now there is a need for a new movement inspired by patriotism and democratic ideas to save the nation and to give hope to the people.

Under the king's rule, there was discipline in the Nepal Police, the IGP was directly coordinated with the king, there was loyalty to the work and there was fear that bad things would be done.

The US court says that there is corruption in the wide body, Trump says, Nepal's federalism is a fraud, where are fairness and purity? Still, those politicians give speeches on good governance!

Parbati Dharel

While withholding the 5.43 billion rupees received by Nepal, Trump said that Nepal’s federalism was a “fraud”. This video is so cute! There was still no time to evaluate and say, the supply has stopped!
