Kathmandu, February 24: When some MPs criticized the message by former King Gyanendra unvailed on the occasion of National Democracy Day, Rastriya Prajatantra Party’s MP Guanendra Shahi stood defending the King at the House meeting on Sunday.

MP Shahi asked the House to open the suggestion bags stored somewhere in the storeroom of the Parliament before challenging the King to face a people’s mandate to return to power.

To recall, the members of the second constituent assembly had collected the general public’s suggestions on what type of constitution they needed. When more than 95% of participants wanted a constitution with the Hindu kingdom and against federalism, the CA members dumped the suggestion bags in the storeroom.

Shahi remarked that the 2015 constitution was imposed by foreigners in their own interests.
