Kathmandu, February 23: Nepal Communist Party’s General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand Biplab has extended thanks to US President Donald Trump for suspending the US aid project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
“The MCC Compact, which was suspended by Donald Trump’s executive order, has had a positive impact on the struggle and voice of the Nepali people. For this, our party, the Communist Party of Nepal, expresses its heartfelt gratitude to US President Donald Trump,” the statement issued on Sunday said.

In a statement, Secretary-General demanded for permanent suspension of the MCC project. He wrote, “We urge you to permanently suspend the MCC Compact and advance cooperation through new development projects to deepen diplomatic relations between Nepal and the United States and to make selfless contributions to Nepal’s development.”
