
Kathmandu, February 20: Former King Gyanendra’s Democracy Day video address released on 18 February has encouraged those associated with the two political parties, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPPN) and other pro-Monarchy groups.
King Gyanendra urged all the Nepalis to join hands to save the nation and democracy.
The former King has also warned for not undermining his sacrifice for the nation and people.
The RPP and RPPN leaders have remarked that the pro-monarchy and followers of the Sanatan Dharma should remain united to end the present political crisis.
RPP’s general secretary and coordinator of the movement, Dr Dhawal Shumsher Rana, has opined that time has come to all should become united to end the present crisis.
Rana urged developing a front of all the patriotic and democratic people to end the ongoing political crisis.
He said, “King Gyanendra has expressed serious worry about the deteriorating situation of the country and urged for a united move to end the ongoing crisis, which I appreciate”.
Chairman of the RPPN, Kamal Thapa has also said that he has taken the King’s message positively.
Thapa said, “Again, the king and the people should join hands to protect the nation and democracy.
Thapa observed that the king’s statement was not against democracy, political parties, and the leaders.
Meanwhile, RPP’s senior leader and former chairman of the RPP, Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani has remarked the former King’s address as “coregious and appreciable”.
The former King has urged to support him to save democracy, to save the nation and for prosperity of the citizens, which is appreciable.
“Time has come to move forward to end present perversion and restore prosperous Nepal by ending the politics of rejection.
