After the Speaker of the American Senate publicly said that USAID spent one hundred million US $ to promote atheism in Nepal, we had expected a hue and cry in Nepali society. Recently, the issue was raised in the Indian Parliament also. In Nepal, except for some intellectuals, all the political parties, a big portion of so-called intellectuals, civil society leaders, and others have remained silent. Perhaps, all of them benefited from the USAID grants!

Understandably, those, who are lauding secularism, federalism and republicanism, have benefited from the US dollars from USAID.

Can we stop brain drain?

It is a burning question that all sections are talking about the brain drain and expressing worry about stopping such a trend.

The fact is that this trend is not going to stop unless we can ensure better salaries or better facilities for experts working in the country.

Talking about the political leaders, they talk about politics only and they have little worry about the brain drain problem in the country.

Also, we cannot stop youths going abroad for further study unless we provide them the facility of learning and earning. Students are going abroad not only to study but also they work there. We have to give them such an environment for learning and working in the country to stop them from going abroad.

Also, youths go abroad for labor work not because they earn money but because a trend has been established in society that they even don’t get girls to get married if they have not gone abroad for a job. The psychology is that those who have returned from abroad job can feed their wives. When such a psychology strongly dominates in society, it is very difficult to remove it.

Instead of lauding against brain drain and foreign employment, the government should develop an environment for better work and better facilities within the country.

Corruption expanding its wings

Daylight loot and rampant corruption have become major characteristics of the present political system. The authorities in the corruption control organs are saying that earlier, the commission deals were taking place within the country, now, such deals are done in Singapore and other foreign countries.

Let’s laud “loktantra”!

Ex-Maoist leader Rambahadur Thapa

The issue of Nepal was raised in the Senate of the USA, and in the Parliament of India, but why was it not raised in the Parliament of Nepal? Why did the RPP and its MPs remain silent when the majority of Nepalis are hopeful with this party?

Neighboring India is building 100 km of expressway in 100 hours, Nepal is building 1 km of road per day! This could be a vivid example of the pace of development in Nepal.

Christianity and Maoism are complementary to each other. If not, then why were the temples attacked during the "Dhanayuddha" period? At the same time, they chopped down cows.

Now we are formally informed that the mother of all major terrorist organizations in the world is our “big brother”, the left hand created the problem, the right hand tried to solve it or pretended to solve it, and they were used against the state!

Claiming economic achievements from a positive balance of payments, which has been possible due to remittances, but not taking responsibility for the compulsion of millions of Nepalis to go abroad for employment!

An irresponsible answer: “Am I a manpower agent?"

Withholding all the US assistance to countries that are not partners in the US military strategy”.

Will Nepal become a partner in the U.S. military strategy?

With the suspension of cooperation by USAID, serious questions have been raised about its real purpose and transparency. Is it only for a strategy to expand political influence? The issue of forced religious conversion has raised more doubts. Now whether Nepal make efforts for self-reliance or remain under external influence?

George Soros’ Open Society Foundations has provided substantial funding to Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), the watchdog group co-founded by Norm Eisen. CREW has been a major player in legal actions against Trump, from the Emoluments Clause lawsuits to ethics complaints and impeachment efforts. With millions in backing from Soros-linked organizations and other Democratic donors, CREW has waged a relentless legal war against Trump and his allies.
