
Kathmandu, February 18: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that serious attention has been paid to the death of a Nepali student at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in Odisha, India, and humiliating behavior against the Nepali students. He informed that the government of Nepal is taking diplomatic initiatives regarding the incident.
Prime Minister Oli wrote on social media,” “It has been reported through the media and social media that a Nepali student has died in the hostel of KIIT University in Odisha, India and a Nepali student has been forcibly removed from the hostel.”
“The government is diplomatically working on this issue. “
Prakriti Lamsal, a third-year Nepali student studying computer engineering at KIIT University, was found dead in her hostel room on Sunday evening.
When Nepali students demanded a necessary investigation into the death of Lamshal, the University authorities forcefully removed the Nepali students from the hostel.
Later, the Nepal Embassy in Delhi took the initiative and the University authorities agreed to short out the issue, reports state.
