
Kathmandu, February 18: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba and Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Araghchi met in Muscat, Oman on Monday, February 17.
The meeting took place in Muscat, the capital of Oman, during the sideline of the 8th Indian Ocean Conference.
During the talks, issues of Nepal-Iran relations and mutual interests were discussed. On the occasion, Minister Deuba also requested the Iranian Foreign Minister to take diplomatic initiatives for the release of Nepali youth Bipin Joshi, who is under the control of the Hamas group.
Minister Deuba had spoken to Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi over the phone a few days ago, urging him to take the initiative for the release of Bipin Joshi, who is being held by Hamas.
During the meeting, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi assured us that he would prioritize Bipin’s release. He assured doing everything from his side to free Nepali youth Bipin from Hamas.
