
Kathmandu, February 15: The UN Peace Missions in Lebanon faces attacks from demonstrators. One Nepal Army Officer on duty was injured in the attack.
At midnight a vehicle with Deputy Force Commander Dhakal of UNIFIL Mission was attacked near the capital Berurt. Nepal Army Orricer Dhakal was injured in the incident, states the Public Relations Directorate of the Nepal Army.
Major General Dhakal was injured when the convoy was attacked by the demonstrators. After the incident, Dhakal was immediately rescued at the UN Level-3 Hospital in Beirut.
According to the Nepal Army spokesman Gaurab Kumar KC, Dhakal is out of danger now.
The Mission Headquarters, in a statement, has denounced the attack on the UN Peacekeeping Force.
The UN has demanded the Leobanan government to carry out immediate investigation and take necessary action on the attackers.
