Kathmandu, February 14: Construction work has started at Murma Top of Rara, the first four-star luxury resort in Karnali Province. Despite the operation of three-star hotels in Karnali Province, the construction of the first four-star resort in Karnali has been started at Murma Top from Monday with the investment of non-resident Nepalis doing business in Australia.

Last year, at an investment conference organized by the government in Kathmandu, Rara Holdings Resorts Pvt Ltd signed an agreement with the government with the commitment to build a four-star resort in Rara as a dream project by a team including Abhishek Bikram Shah, a Nepali living in Australia.

According to the agreement to complete the construction works within 18 months, the construction was started after performing a Bhoomi Pooja.  The estimated construction cost of the resort in 73 Ropanis area is Rs. 1 billion. In the first phase, 36 luxury rooms and second phase, 19 rooms with 98 beds will be constructed.

The resort aims to provide services to 100 domestic and foreign tourists daily.
