Kathmandu, February 9: Speaker Devraj Ghimire said that Nepal is facing the problem of climate change as a punishment for a crime it did not commit

Speaking at a program organized by the Coca-Cola Foundation in Kathmandu on Sunday, Speaker Ghimire said that the excessive emission of carbon by the rich and industrialized nations of the world has directly affected Nepal's natural resources.

He said, "Nepal is currently facing the punishment for a crime it did not commit itself. The excessive carbon emissions by the rich and industrialized nations of the world have had an impact on our natural resources. Due to increasing carbon emissions, the increase in the temperature of the earth has seriously affected Nepal”.

Speaker Ghimire said that cooperation between the government, private sector, civil society and international partners is indispensable to face the challenges caused by climate change. In particular, it is necessary to make a planned effort to help the communities that are experiencing livelihood crisis and to minimize the environmental damage.
