Kathmandu, February 7: Former senior administrator, anthropologist and writer contributing to the People’s Review and People’s Review Online Portal passed away today.

Shrestha, 88, passed away at his residence in Chakupat, Lalitpur. He was active in research, teaching and writing.

Shrestha, one of the members of the team, conducted research on Karnali culture and wrote a series of books about the Karnali folk culture.

Shrestha initiated the community concept, Aama Samuha and Ban Upobhakta Samuha, to control deforestation and make aware locals of effective social development and awareness.

Shrestha's demise is an irreparable loss to the nation.

Shrestha, a patriotic personality, was utterly dissatisfied with the present-day politics and leaseds’ involvement in different scandals, therefore, he had wished for the restoration of the constitutional monarchy to curb the present anomalies and protect the nation's sovereignty and independence.

The People's Review family prays to the Almighty for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extends heartfelt condolences to all the members of the bereaved family.
