Kathmandu, February 7: Britain's Prince Edward, who is on a visit to Nepal, administered the oath of rank and secrecy to 274 new Nepali recruits in the British Army.

After reciting the Swastishanti mantra according to Hindu scriptures, the princely couple administered the oath to the Nepali soldiers in a ceremony organized this morning at the British Camp in Pokhara. Besides, he has also given honors to British ex-soldiers who have served for a long time.

The princely couple met the families of ex-Gurkha soldiers dependent on the Welfare Trust on Thursday, and today they met the families of young men who have joined the British Army.

The Edward couple came to Kathmandu last Tuesday as part of a private visit. They will return to their country on Sunday, February 9.
