Nearly eight years after floating the idea of holding the Sagarmatha Dialogue, the government has decided to hold it in Kathmandu from May 16 to 18, 2025.
The Dialogue will be based on the theme ‘Climate Change, Mountains and the Future of Humanity, the government spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information and Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung said while making the cabinet decision public on Tuesday.
The dialogue will help to raise global concern regarding the increasing challenge of climate change impact seen in Nepal and other Himalayan nations.
Earlier, the government was unable to hold the much-talked-about Sagarmatha dialogue because of COVID-19 pandemic.
