
Kathmandu, January 26: The Nepali Congress (NC) has clarified that the government brought an ordinance to make the economic sector vibrant. A meeting of the NC office-bearers, former office-bearers and the party’s parliamentary party held at Singha Durbar on Saturday clarified that the government has brought the ordinance in consultation with those in the economic sector.
In the meeting, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak briefed the meeting about the government’s activities as well as the bill and ordinance. According to NC Parliamentary Party Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire, Home Minister Lekhak said that if the issues contained in the ordinance have to be amended, the replacement bill can be amended by bringing a replacement bill while tabling it in the parliament.
“Some bills had to be amended as economic reforms had to be carried out,” he said, “Therefore, the Home Minister said that the ordinance had to be brought. The Congress’s stand on the ordinance is clear. The ordinance is for economic reforms.”
Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel and Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Ramnath Adhikari also spoke at the meeting. They informed about the work done in the ministry and the work to be done now.
