
Kathmandu, January 26: Security personnel of Nepal and China have jointly monitored the northern border area of Humla. The border point in Hilsa’s Kit area of North Namkha Rural Municipality-5 was inspected on Saturday.
Armed Police Force (APF) from Border Security Post Hilsa Chief Krishna Bahadur Ojha said that the border and border pillars located in the Kit area to Hilsa have been jointly monitored as per the decision of the security personnel of the two countries. It is said that it is very cold from Hilsa to Kit. Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Devraj Rai of APF-44, Gulma Simkot, said that joint monitoring has been carried out to prevent unwanted incidents at the border points, to understand the condition of the border pillars and to increase coordination among the security personnel.
Similarly, Nepali security personnel have also been patrolling from Hilsa to Nara and Limi. Chinese security personnel from China and the Armed Police Force and District Police from Nepal participated in the team.
The Armed Police Force (APF) has been deployed for border security since its establishment at Hilsa Pass on the northern border in 2077 BS. Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Force Rai said that although the movement of Yari and Hilsa is closed due to snowfall in north Namkha in winter, they have been deployed for border security for 12 months.
