
Kathmandu, January 25: Seven out of 12 persons who died in a railway accident in Maharastra, India, are identified as Nepali nationals.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that 12 people, including seven Nepalis, have died in the train accident.
According to the ministry, two people from Kailali have died. They are 43-year-old Kamala Naveen Bhandari and 40-year-old Lachiram Pasi. Four other people 44-year-old Nandaram Padya Vishwakarma, 42-year-old Maisara Kami Vishwakarma, 11-year-old Hindu Ram Vishwakarma, and 6-year-old Kala Kami, who also died in the accident. Another person, Radhe Shyam, 32, also died in the accident.
Of the four Nepalis injured in the accident, three are being treated at a local hospital and one with serious injuries is being treated at Godavari Hospital Jalgaon.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating with the concerned agencies of the Government of India through the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi and the Embassy of India in Kathmandu to bring the bodies of the deceased Nepalis and provide speedy treatment to the injured.
The train accident occurred around 5 pm on January 22 near Pardhade station in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra.
