Kathmandu, January 24: District Court Morang has ordered the release of Anil Kumar Pokharel, former personal secretary of Rishikesh Pokharel, Chair, Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives.
The court ordered a deposit of five lakh rupees on bail.
According to Hem Bahadur Budhathoki, Information Officer of the Morang Court, the bench of Judge Chitra Bahadur Gurung had ordered the release of Adhikari on bail in the fraud case.
Pokharel is accused of defrauding Baulal Chowdhury of Saptari’s Agnisair Krishnaswaran Rural Municipality-5 of Rs 38.80 lakh from 2071 to 2073 for including his name from the party’s quota to study the medical course of MBBS on scholarship but was not included in the scholarship list.
