
Kathmandu, January 24: To encourage international airlines operators to operate flights from Pokhara and Bhairahawa, it has cancelled the airport service.Such fee is equal to three thousand rupees per passenger.
According to Binod Prakash Singh, secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, it has been decided to completely waive airport service charges until Bhadau 2083 (August 2026).
With this, there will now be a reduction of at least Rs 3,000 per ticket on flights from these two international airports. At present, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has been levying a fee equivalent to 3,000 per ticket for passenger service charges. This fee is applicable for international flights from Kathmandu Airport. The government has taken this decision to attract airlines and passengers to the two new airports.
