Around 10 kms of the B.P. Highway swept away by the Roshi River floods is being operated through a diversion on the beach by diverting the River. If the damaged part of the Highway is not constructed on time, it is impossible to run vehicles during the rainy season. The B.P. Highway is the lifeline for the Eastern mountain districts linking Kathmandu and also a Highway shortening the distance with East Nepal. The government is unable to decide to reconstruct the road yet. The Japanese government has also shown an interest in reconstructing the Highway but one influential group in the Road Department and the Transportation Ministry is lobbying not to allow the Japanese government for this work due to the vested interests of some construction brokers. Meanwhile, the government is unable to manage funds for the reconstruction of the damaged road.
Taking a soft loan and starting immediate construction of the road is the prime duty of the government. As all the political leaders are in the money-making business by organizing a daylight loot on the government coffer, who cares about the reconstruction of the key Highway?
Warehouse or Traffic Police Headquarters?
If we visit the Traffic Police Headquarters in Puttalisadak, near the main gate of Singhadurwar, we can see the dumping of motorbikes, which have already been damaged. Also, in other Traffic Police offices, the same picture we can see.
Due to the lack of necessary laws in disposing of such two-wheelers, they have been dumped for years. Similarly, we can see old vehicles dumped in the yard of the government offices. In the absence of necessary laws for disposing of them, they are dumped in the government office premises. Why the government is unable to make prompt decisions and draft effective laws to clean those dumped vehicles?
More seriously, Nepal Airlines Corporation is paying the charge of the Chinese aircraft dumped at the Tribhuvan International Airport. On the one hand, the Corporation is unable to provide air service in the remote districts, on the other, the aircraft for domestic services are dumped at the TIA.
Why the government is reluctant to dispose of these aircraft and manage STOL aircraft to resume services in the remote districts? Perhaps, the political leaders have no time to think about such problems rather than doing dirty politics!
QUOTES OF THE WEEK
When the court turns into an NGO, it is going to be dissolved. The court is on the verge of dissolution in view of the verdicts against Gadimai animal sacrifice, anti-national citizenship law, gay marriage, the decision to disturb the BRI in the name of conservation of the national parks, the so-called identity card, the embossed number, the decision of giving birth to the UML Maoist Center, etc!
Such decisions are not just fun!

The issuance of the ordinance is a planned way to grab public land directly and a commission is made to implement it. If the people do not raise their voices against this, then the public land in the Madhesh hills, forests, and rural and urban areas will be distributed to the political activists in the name of consumption, and to the traders in the form of lease. Let’s wake up from a deep sleep now!

There is no need to weaken nationalism for the promotion of democracy. Democracy does not thrive in a world of weak nationalities. After 2046 BS, in the campaign for democracy, the politics of Nepal knowingly or unknowingly adopted the policy of openness towards nationalism. The problem is deep.

Federalism may be necessary to bring different countries together, but establishing federalism in a unified country will invite instability!

They are ready to compromise on national interests at any time if they get any chance to reinstate them in power. We can't expect anything regarding national interests from the current leadership.

You may not know that the reasons behind the current mass exodus have not been created in the last few years. The “money war” led by them (Maoists) is a major factor in this and their ego does not allow them to apologize saying that they committed a mistake. There is no meaning of the crocodile-tear!

Multiparty democracy has been around for 35 years. Where are we going in Nepal today? The people of Nepal are disappointed. Millions of young people are forced to leave the country due to the lack of opportunities. There is no good governance but rampant loot and scandals.

The country is mired in foreign debt. Both the government and the people are caught in the debt trap of foreigners. The factories were shut down, cultivable land was destroyed. People's money is stuck in their houses and cars. What's the choice now?

After 18 years, the legacy of Madhes politics is also weakening. The Madhes-centric leaders have aligned their vested interests with the issue of Madhes. What did Madheshi people achieve in the 18 years of the Madhes Uprising?
