This year, the patriotic Nepalis observed the 303rd Prithivi Jayanti (birth anniversary) and National Unity Day on Pous 27 (January 11).

On the eve of the Prithivi Jayanti former King Gyanendra presented a video message addressing the nation describing the significance of the Great King’s Divya Upadesh as the guideline in governing the nation.

At a time when the imperialist countries were expanding their colonies all over the region, King Prithivi Narayan Shah the Great founded Nepal, which was not a small event, King Gyanendra has recalled. The former King has noted that the Prithivi Bichar (Thought) is still significant and practical for today’s Nepal. The Prithivi Path was guided towards internal unification and national unity; a fundamental economic system; cultural and social harmonization; geopolitical security strategy and balanced diplomacy, as the former King has mentioned in the video message.

If we follow that Prithivi Ideology, we can ensure Nepal’s existence forever, the King has opined.

King Gyanendra pointed out that independence and periodic elections alone cannot be a total democracy. Better livelihood, and ensuring better food, shelter and clothes are the components of a total democracy. Thus far, a democracy with patriotism is the Prithivi Thought, King Gyanendra has opined.

The former King has expressed dissatisfaction with the present status of the country, which is heading towards foreign dependence in all sectors. He has remarked, “We are begging with others carrying a golden bowl” instead of harnessing our resources.

Surely, our people sponsored by the Open Society's George Soros and others, who have implanted negativity in society, will never admire King Prithivi Narayan Shah or King Mahendra or King Birendra, who sacrificed their lives in the process of making Nepal a prosperous nation. We know, the Royal Palace bloodbath took place when King Birendra wished to develop Nepal into a prosperous, sovereign and strong nation. King Gyanendra was dethroned when he denied making Nepal a foreign-protected nation. Now, it is not a hidden secret from where the Maoist insurgency was sponsored and where those supreme commanders were sheltered.

Those leaders and their party workers hesitated to pay honor to the founder of the nation as they were worried about losing foreigners’ blessings. Every year, when this auspicious day comes, NC leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula’s face appears among us. Sitaula was the notorious guy who, to please his bosses in South Block and RAW, suspended National Unity Day and also a public holiday on the occasion of the founder of the nation’s birth anniversary. The other face to remember is Girija Prasad Koirala, who adopted the Prachanda Path by scrapping the fundamental ideology of the Nepali Congress -- Constitutional Monarchy and Multiparty Democracy. Everywhere, we see anomalies today and Koirala is the father of these anomalies, the nation’s history will recall.

If the leaders had adopted the Prithivi Path and contributed to the nation, the present state of perversion could never have existed in the country. The leaders are not honest to the nation and people, we don’t need to explain further. Now, in the name of democracy, those foreign-sponsored leaders are talking about amendment of the constitution with the plan of introducing a two-party system by suppressing the voice of small political parties. When the nation is on the verge of collapse, the leaders are debating on increasing the level of threshold in the election, moreover, they are talking about the rule of popular votes by discarding the mechanism of a majority rule. This looks funny. Indeed, foreigners have made Nepal an experimental venue as the present model of democracy has already failed even in the USA and European countries. The Prithivi Path is the fundamental Nepali doctrine, which should be practised by dismantling the foreign-imposed system to keep Nepal a sovereign, independent and economically prosperous nation.
