Kathmandu, January 9: The work of extending the petroleum pipeline from Amlekhganj in Bara to Lothar in Chitwan will be carried forward soon. After the completion of the Motihari-Amlekhganj pipeline, the work is going to be continued with the aim of extending the pipeline up to Lothar in Chitwan.

Engineer Manoj Thakur, spokesperson of Nepal Oil Corporation, informed that after the completion of the field study work by the high-level technical team, the DPR is being prepared regarding the 69 km pipeline from Amlekhganj to Lothar in Chitwan.

Thakur said, "The study work has been done by the high-level technical teams of both Nepal and India. The team is now preparing the DPR after the study."

Similarly, with the completion of the Motihari-Amlekhganj petroleum pipeline expansion, a trial has been started to import petroleum products through the pipeline.

Pralayankar Acharya, Head of Nepal Oil Corporation Madhesh Regional Office, Amlekhganj, informed that the Motihari-Amlekhganj petroleum pipeline expansion work has been completed and petrol and kerosene have been brought from the pipeline for immediate testing.
