It looks like everything is okay but behind the curtail, something seems to be cooking. K.P. Sharma Oli is unaware of how long he will remain the Prime Minister of the country. PM Oli knocked on every door to pay a visit to India but he didn’t get a positive response. Now, the Indians are saying that what could be the significance of the Nepali PM’s India visit. They are even saying that the Indian leaders are not in leisure to invite and meet PM Oli. Oli has felt that Indians are unhappy with him and anytime his government can be collapsed. There are different reasons why the Indians are unhappy with Oli. Since the 2006 political change under the 12-point agreement, Indians believe that Nepal is an India-protected nation. When Nepal planned to print a new 100 rupees denominated note by publishing the new political map of Nepal incorporating the Kalapani-Lipulekh-Limpiyuadhura, Nepali territory, India became angry. Again, when Nepal inked on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) with China, India became furious. Moreover, India wants to completely stop China and the West in Nepal. Everybody knows the 1990 political change, the Maoist insurgency and the 2006 April uprising were solely sponsored by India to bring Nepal under the Indian security umbrella. Political leaders running behind their pity interests, sacrificed the greater cause of keeping the nation sovereign and independent. Now, they are paying the price. Some Nepalis still portray Girija Prasad Koirala as the statesman but he was the main figure to weaken Nepali sovereignty. Maoist supremo Pushpakamal Dahal and other leaders belong to the same category. Among the leaders serving the Indian interests, Oli is somehow different, or say, an untrustworthy person. India invested a huge amount on Oli but that didn’t work. India believes all the political leaders are the slaves of Delhi, which is true. We don’t say that Oli is a patriotic leader, yet, he is the untrustworthy leader for India.

The Tarai-based political parties split into different small parties, have become ready to develop a joint front. It is believed that the Indians are coordinating to develop a unified front of the Tarai-based parties. Meanwhile, Westerners have also become active and imposing their agendas.

On the home ground, the general public has been frustrated by the attitude of the political leaders. There is a unique economic recession in the country. The government is unable to raise the necessary revenue so that the expenditure side can be managed. The economy largely relies on debts, and now, the government has reached the stage where to pay back instalments and interests, it has to take new debts. The market price has skyrocketed due to the lack of an effective control mechanism. Viewing all these external and internal developments, we can assume, the present silence period could be a syndrome for a massive cyclone.
