Kathmandu, January 5: Former Inspector General (IGP) of Nepal Police, Sarvendra Khanal, who had joined UML after his retirement from the post of the Police chief, has quit the party. Writing a status on the social network Facebook, he said that he is not affiliated with any party now.

He wrote, “Feeling that you are confused about my political position, I would like to make it clear through this medium that I am not affiliated with any political party at present.”

He also said that he would continue all efforts to bring the perpetrators to the judiciary net and make the nation great and will always fight for the welfare of the country and the people.
