Kathmandu, January 3: On the occasion of the 303rd birth anniversary of Great King Prithivi Narayan Shah, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is organizing a unity rally starting from King Mahendra’s statue in the King’s Way to King Prithivi Narayan Shah’s statue in front of the Singhadurwar main gate on Saturday, Pous 27 (January 11).

Spokesperson Mohan Shrestha informed RPP chairman Rajendra Lingden, former chairmen Pashupati Shumsher Rana, Dr Prakashchandra Lohani, and other senior leaders that are participating in the unity rally.

The rally will be comprised of different ethnic groups and their costumes.

On the same day, RPP has organized a tea reception. The Prime Minister, Cabinet members, Speaker of the National Assembly, chairpersons and leaders of various political parties, former prime ministers, heads of constitutional bodies, heads of foreign diplomatic missions and representatives, heads of security bodies, heads of various professional associations, artists, sportspersons and various other people from social life are invited at the tea reception.

Spokesperson Shrestha informed that RPP has been hosting tea reception since 2063 BS while marking birth anniversary of the Great King.

Similarly, on the occasion of Prithvi Jayanti, the Academic Council affiliated to the RRP is organizing a seminar on the contribution of Prithvi Narayan Shah in the formation of modern Nepal. The seminar is going to be held in Kathmandu on January 9.
