Kathmandu, December 28: On its 18th anniversary, Global IME Bank Limited has awarded scholarships to 35 meritorious girl students under its Corporate Social Responsibility Program.
The bank is providing scholarships worth Rs 12,000 annually to underprivileged girl students who have passed class 6 from various community and government schools and are enrolled in class 7. According to the bank, the scholarship will help in studying up to class 12. A total of 35 girls have been selected from each province this year.
The bank has so far been providing scholarships to 140 girl students through this program. According to the bank, this kind of support will inspire girls who are forced to drop out due to financial problems to complete school education. The bank believes that after educating women, the awareness level of society will increase and contribute to financial empowerment.
