Kathmandu, December 24: The Federal Parliament Secretariat, following the instruction from the Speaker on Monday, has placed a notice that Rabi Lamichhane’s post of the Member of Parliament has been suspended until the final verdict from the Court on organized crime.

The Federal Parliament Secretariat issued a suspension notice on Monday, based on a letter sent by the Kaski District Police Office via email on Sunday.

On Sunday, the Kaski Police filed three cases related to cooperatives fraud, money laundering and organized crime against MP Lamichhane, also the president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party.

Since the Parliament Secretariat posted the notice, Lamichhane’s post as MP has been suspended until final verdict of the Court.

Nevertheless, Lamichhane can knock on the Court’s door, challenging the Speaker’s act.

Meanwhile, RSP RSP has named Vice President Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal as the acting president of the party.

The decision was made during a virtual secretariat meeting held on Monday.

The meeting also discussed appointing Deputy Leader Biraj Bhakta Shrestha as the leader of the parliamentary party.
