
Kathmandu, December 21: Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba is returning home on Monday after a follow-up medical check-up in Delhi. FM Deuba landed in New Delhi on Thursday, December 19, after completing her tour to some European countries and addressed the Nepal-India Economic Conference held on Friday, December 20 in Delhi.
She is scheduled to undergo a medical check-up in Delhi and return home on Monday.
Deuba landed in Delhi with two missions – convincing the Indian leaders about the BRI agreement with China which, Nepal had inked during PM Oli’s recent visit to China and arranging the Nepali PM’s India visit.
The Nepal Embassy in Delhi had tried to arrange a meeting between FM Deuba and Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar but she hasn’t got time to meet the latter.
Indian PM Narendra Modi left for a visit to Kuwait and S Jaishankar is also accompanied in the visit.
Other officials in the South Block have also not met Deuba. The Indian PM is returning home on Sunday evening but a meeting between Deuba and Shankaran has not been fixed yet.
Meanwhile, Vice General Secretary and former minister Pradeep Gyawali has suddenly reached Delhi.
Of late, PM Oli has mobilized different back-door channels to receive an invitation for a visit to India. Oli has publicly said that he would visit India very soon. Still, India is seen as reluctant to invite him.
