There is a fashion of adding the prefix “Nepal Communist Party” to the name of the so-called communist parties. As such, the Nepal Communist Party UML; and the Nepal Communist Party Maoist Center, among others. Looking over the leaders’ lifestyles and living standards, they look no less than the feudal. Branded watches, branded dresses, and luxury cars have become the standard of the so-called communist leaders. They are competing to add personal properties.
The People’s Review Weekly, thus far, has now stopped writing “Communist Party of Nepal” as a prefix on their party names.
A gossip about King Mahendra
This Babbler had the opportunity to meet founding member of the Nepal Praja Parishad and owner of the Ranjana Cinema Hall, Hari Krishna Shrestha, former prime minister Tulsi Giri and also former minister Rameshnath Pandey. They used to recall King Mahendra with this Babbler in various contexts.
Once, King Mahendra felt necessary to convey an important message to Beijing. Therefore, the King directly phoned the sitting ambassador at the Chinese Embassy and said, “Excellency, my wife wanted to enjoy Chinese cuisine, where should we go?”
The Ambassador promptly replied, “Your Majesty, may I invite you with Her Majesty for dinner?”
When the King said okay, the Ambassador invited the King and Queen for dinner. The King reached the Embassy along with the Queen without a bodyguard by driving the vehicle himself.
This was King Mahendra’s style of practicing successful diplomacy.
Air pollution and our responsibility
The Kathmandu Valley is very sensitive as it is a valley like a bowl. Movement of the air is obstructed as the Valley is circled by mountains. The Valley is already over-populated and the quality of air has deteriorated. Leaders are travelling on foreign trips for compensation from the countries contributing to climate change, global warming and air pollution.
Around 31 million people are residing in 683954 households in the Valley. Fresh oxygen is scarce to breathe. If the local bodies develop a mandatory mechanism for the plantation of trees filtering polluted air into fresh air, we could contribute a lot to controlling pollution. Even if each house plants four trees on the rooftop, if there is no compound and necessary land, 2735816 trees can be planted in the Valley. It could help filter polluted air to a higher extent.
Will the local bodies materialize this idea? Also, to control floods in the Valley, the groundwater recharging system should be introduced. This should be made mandatory for all the households in the Valley.
QUOTES OF THE WEEK
Excerpted and translated by Sushma Shrestha
Although all the prime ministers of Nepal for two decades are talkative, among them, K.P. Oli appeared with a supper-talkative prime minister.

The price of the watch you wear, the car you drive, the expensive phone you carry, the clothes your wife wears, and the jewellery you wear are swallowing the poor of my country. The iPad and tablet that your daughter-in-law carries are sucking up to Cheri, the son of the people who read and write in chalky black words.
Let's create an environment that does not ask for the tears of the poor, and does not bring tears to the eyes of the poor. When you do politics even when you go to ask for the tears of the poor, you are doing a vote deal with the tears of the poor.

One of the main reasons why Premlal (PL) Singh should be remembered is his decision not to remain a member of the reinstated House of Representatives in 2006. Kisunji was another leader who did not remain a Member of Parliament. Thus, both of them had distanced themselves from the controversial 12-point agreement in Delhi. They didn’t fall into Girija's trap.

The boy, who returned to Nepal after defaulting on credit card debt in the US, is going to do business worth millions of rupees in Nepal. This proves that Nepal is like heaven for those who know how to cheat.

The Rising Nepal Marked Its 59th anniversary without acknowledging the newspaper's founder!
[Note: The Rising Nepal started its publication on Pous 1, coinciding with the day when the Panchayat Constitution was introduced, under the direct initiative of King Mahendra to inform the world about Nepal.]

If you feel proud to be Nepali, never forget three things. 1 King Prithvi Narayan Shah's dedication 2 King Mahendra's nationalism 3 The sacrifice of King Gyanendra. If the Kings had a positional interest like that of republican leaders of the day, there would have been millions instead of seventeen thousand.

The group running the media house and the gang running the media house are different things.

May King Mahendra be immortal!
Indira Gandhi's illegitimate sons and daughters are living today by abusing King Mahendra.

They are the judges. Hey, from which party? Where did those offensive leaders take the country by addressing judges with "Jai Nepal” and "Lalsalam"? The crimes that make the judicial system so stinking are counted one day or the other and the day will be the hardest day for them!
