Kathmandu, December 16: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has proposed a direct flight from Cambodia to Bhairahawa. In a meeting with Cambodia’s Minister for Culture and Religious Affairs Chai Borin on Sunday, Minister Pandey proposed a direct flight from Cambodia to Bhairahawa.

Minister Pandey also informed that the Nepal government has given concessions to the airlines operating flights to Pokhara and Bhairahawa international airports. During the meeting, discussions were held on the development of a ‘Buddhist circuit’ connecting the major Buddhist shrines of the two countries, cooperation in art, music and literature between the two countries for the promotion of tourism and partnership between the cultural festival program and the Tourism Board.

According to Minister Pandey’s secretariat, discussions were also held on the possibility of cooperation in the conservation and promotion of UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the two countries, youth and educational exchanges aimed at deepening cultural understanding and goodwill. The two ministers discussed the need to facilitate direct flights and visa processes to encourage tourism.
