Kathmandu, December 15: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has claimed that the government did not behave in a vindictive manner during the investigation of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane. Police had arrested Lamichhane on the charge of misappropriating the cooperatives’ money. The RSP has been accusing Lamichhane of political vendetta by the government.
Replying to journalists in Chitwan on Sunday, Minister Lekhak claimed that the investigation against Lamichhane was in accordance with the law and not in an arbitrary manner. “The investigation is not going beyond the law. The police have sought remand from the court. The court has given the deadline as per law,” Minister Lekhak said. Lekhak argued that the investigation carried out in accordance with the law would not be vindictive. He claimed that the state did not behave inhumanly while shifting Lamichhane to Pokhara from Chitwan.
