
Kathmandu, December 13: Samakhusi Transportation Company Ltd, a private sector vehicle operating company, has brought 20 electric micro-buses into operation with an investment of Rs 103 million. The company, which has been providing transportation services since 2015, introduced electric microbuses on Thursday.
Sanukaji Prajapati, chairman of the Company, informed that 20 microbuses have been put into operation keeping in mind the needs of the residents of the northern region of Kathmandu. “There is a pressure of passengers in the Kathmandu Valley, with the addition of the microbus, the passengers are expected to get some comfort,” he said.
Samakhushi Transport is currently operating 80 microbuses and 50 large buses. The Financial Manager of Samakhusi Transport, Dipendra KC, informed that passenger vehicles are being operated from the northern region of Kathmandu, Baniantar, Bhatkeko Bridge, Manmaiju, Jhor, Tokha, Bashundhara and Maipi.
The company has employed 350 drivers and co-drivers.
