Kathmandu, December 2: The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) remained closed from 10.30 till 11.15 following Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli’s departure to China.

Domestic and international aircraft approaching the TIA were kept on hold for around 45 minutes due to the take-off of the Himalayan Airlines aircraft carrying the PM.

The Himalayan Airlines aircraft took off at 11.05 am today for Beijing carrying the PM and the delegation members visiting China.

The government chartered the Himalayan Airlines aircraft instead of the national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines. In general, during such visits of the head of the government and the head of the nation, the government charters the national flag carrier.
